I just started a short sale business and I was told that I needed to deed the property into a land trust or a corporation before I negociate the deal.  I know they are both a form of asset protection but is one better for tax purposes?  Can someone let me know which one is better?

Dreams,

If you use a coporation you could have  some tax problems (depending on what kind of corporation you use). A Land Trust is the best entity to start out with (even if you make a corporation the beneficiary of the Land Trust...which is entirely possible). There are 32 reasons to use a Land Trust. Please go to our link to see those reasons spelled out:

scroll down the page a little to find it.

Let me know what you think,
