Finding purchase price in public record

Thursday, February 14 2008 06:03 AM

I have a property I'm looking at that was bought (I think) at a tax sale or foreclosure. I have checked the county Recorder's records and find many Lis Pendis documents mostly all leins plus a US Govt lein, etc.

The final record is a deed conveyance from the seller (grantor) to the buyer (a RE agent-grantee).  I'm interested in finding what was paid for the property.

I checked the tax assessor website and find the sale was made in Jan 2008 but cannot find the sale price recorded.  How (and where else) can I locate/discover the sale price?

Dave,

The Recorders office should show "tax stamps" on the deed transaction that will tell you how much was paid (based upon how many stamps were purchased)
