Credit Checks where do I go???

Sunday, June 18 2006 05:07 PM

I have houses setup in a trust, however I have benifical interest in them. I want to start running credit checks for myself, but these darn sites all want my personal information.

I have found a couple sites like mrlandlord.com and youcheckcredit.com. They want all the information in the world though!!!

They want:

1. Are you the owner.. (i said no, because its in a trust I just manage)
2. If you manage it, you have to have a licsence and contract with the property owner
3. My Social Security!!!!
4. How many units do you manage
5. Previous credit checks that I have done.

I need help here, I know its a long one can someone break it down for me.

Thanks in advance

Mr. Olson,

First let me commend you on your concern for your privacy and not wanting to give out all of your personal information. As you may have noticed on the news lately, keeping your personal information private is always promised but not always delivered!

When I set up my current account with First American Registry (to obtain tenant credit reports) I told them that I was not the owner of the property or the owner of the company. Therefore, I could only give them the company FEIN tax ID number and NOT my own personal SS#. I did produce a "management agreement" between our company and a few of the properties and they did come to my office to verify its existence. I would suggest if you work out of your home (i do not believe they will accept a home office), that you "borrow" a friend's office for a day and put out your name plate. I would give them everything they want EXCEPT your SS# even if you have to create the information temporarily for their satisfaction. Where there is a will there is a way! Get-r-done!

Hi All,

I'm just wondering if anyone can give a good refference for a company online that does credit reports as well as criminal background checks, eviction histories and sexual offender checks. There are alot of companies that come up when I google, but I would love a recomendation from some people who are using them.

Thanks,

I would check with Mrlandlord.com they seem to be good for the smaller companies. There are others like you said, but we have had the most experience with this site.

We use the service promoted by Mr. Landlord and have been happy so far. You won't be subject to a site visit if you provide them with what they want. As for the SS# number give them an EIN!!
