Signatory for LLC

Friday, February 16 2007 01:12 PM

Jim/Randy:

How important is it that I not use my signature on a checking account for my DE/LLC account?  I've set up a series LLC in DE as per your class and am prepared to title all properties in Land trusts with their beneficiaries being the inidividual LLC.  And am in the process of opening a checking acct for LLC.  But, other than my spouse, I don't have another person to sign as signatory on the checking accts...  Pls advise.

Makrita,

It depends on your level of paranoia/concern for your own protection. If you do sign personally on the account make sure you sign in your offical capacity (i.e. member-manager, or non-member-manager, etc.). Do not put the account in your personal name and sign indivdually.
